CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - July 16, 2013) - A news conference will be held tomorrow for a delegation of farmers from Quebec and the Oil and Gas Services Association of Quebec (OGSAQ) to discuss their recent experience touring Alberta farms, experiencing how agriculture and the oil and gas industry work together to develop resources safely and responsibly.
The current moratorium on shale gas development in Quebec makes this tour, held for the second consecutive year, especially relevant as farmers are able to witness first-hand the development of natural gas, including drilling horizontal wells and multi‐stage hydraulic fracturing, that occurs regularly on farm lands in Alberta.
The news conference will be held at 4:30 p.m. MDT on Wednesday, July 17 in Calgary. A telephone call-in number is available for media unable to attend in person.
