Roadside Assistance Available for Cyclists Through Bike Assist

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - July 18, 2013) - With many individuals pulling out their bicycles and embracing a greener way to commute during the summer season, CAA North & East Ontario (CAANEO) is reminding our Members that roadside assistance is available for cyclists through Bike Assist.

Bike Assist allows CAANEO Members to use their allotted annual service calls for roadside assistance should they encounter a problem with their bicycle and become stranded. Under this service, CAANEO will transport the Member and the bicycle home or to another safe location of the Member's choosing.

"At CAA North & East Ontario we know that the transportation priorities of our Members have shifted as more individuals look to adopt a greener and healthier lifestyle," said Christina Hlusko, President and CEO of CAA North & East Ontario. "We also know that being stranded is frustrating regardless of your mode of transportation, which is why we are pleased to have Bike Assist available in order to help safeguard our Members - wherever and however they travel."

Just like our renowned roadside assistance for automobiles, Bike Assist provides coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This benefit is free for our Members and available anywhere we provide roadside assistance throughout Ontario.

The number of cyclists on local roadways has increased dramatically in recent years, and CAANEO has made it a focus to take into account the needs of our Members who are avid or recreational cyclists by expanding upon our various green initiatives and bicycle safety endeavours.
