ALR Technologies Releases Webinar Recording With America's Health Insurance Plans; Clinical Trial Data Found Internet-Based Glucose Monitoring and Continuous Glucose Monitoring to Be Comparable

RICHMOND, VA--(Marketwired - Jul 22, 2013) - ALR Technologies Inc. (OTCBB: ALRT) released onto its website a recording of a Webinar conducted by Dr. Kent Stoneking, ALRT's Director of Diabetes Care Facilitation, discussing the results of a recent clinical trial comparing an Internet-based Glucose Monitoring System (IBGMS) with a Continuous Glucose Monitoring System (CGMS). The Webinar was presented to medical directors and other clinical staff from health plans that are members of America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP). Despite the greater cost of and invasive nature of CGMS, the trial results found that the clinical results of the two systems were comparable.

Providers should note that some patients might require the more intensive monitoring provided by the CGM systems. Therefore these trial results are not meant to demonstrate that the two technologies are interchangeable, only that IBGMS may be a cost effective option for many patients who do not require CGM.
