MicroSeismic, Inc. to Install BuriedArray for Berry Petroleum

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwired - Jul 23, 2013) - MicroSeismic, Inc. (MicroSeismic) announced today that it has been awarded an exclusive contract to install and operate the first BuriedArray™ system for Berry Petroleum (NYSE: BRY) in Kern County, California. This BuriedArray system will establish a permanent network of near surface, multi-component geophones which will continuously monitor the cyclic steam stimulation (CSS) operations within Berry's North Midway Sunset Field.

"We are very pleased to work with Berry," stated Terry Jbeili, COO, MicroSeismic. "MicroSeismic was the first company in North America to commercialize near surface microseismic monitoring for the oil and gas industry back in 2008 and have since installed over 40 BuriedArray systems. The technology is ideally suited to the development of a field and the application has provided our customers with immediate value by delivering real-time monitoring, mapping and evaluation of hydraulic fracture operations or CSS monitoring."

This contract builds on MicroSeismic's experience conducting long-term monitoring of thermal operations in the Kern County area and throughout North America.
