OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - July 24, 2013) - Amika Mobile announced today that it has expanded the functionality of its award winning Amika Mobility Server (AMS) for critical and emergency communications to receive and deliver agency advisories from NOAA (National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration), NAAD System (National Alert Aggregation Dissemination System), and MASAS (Multi-Agency Situational Awareness System) in CAP (Common Access Protocol) and CAP-CP formats. The advisories can include severe weather, Amber Alerts, civil emergencies, and natural or man-made disasters. Multilingual advisories with relevant text, image, and audio content based on security or life safety events can be delivered over 18 layers to mobile devices, desktops, laptops, ePads, overhead displays, pagers, phones, etc. by group membership, targeted locations or en masse.
Amika Mobile has a unique patented platform that addresses two gaps in managing risk for public safety and security. The AMS automatically discovers device recipient information leveraging existing networks and best practices to ensure alerts reach all targeted groups and locations, thus significantly simplifying the administration of alert recipient information. Auto-discovery of mobile devices is especially important for airports, sports arenas, entertainment venues, and campuses where visitors would not have pre-registered for alerts. AMS also detects, filters and manages critical security events triggered from many disparate physical security systems. Such dynamic events can include card access under duress, door forced open, exceeded radiation thresholds, detected motion from cameras, fire panel events or Panic Buttons. Alerts with relevant text, audio or images are automatically sent to appropriate security groups and can trigger a lockdown or strobes as the need arises. Amika Mobile will also extend its AmikaMobile.net notification service to include advisories for selected cities. Extending AMS and AmikaMobile.net to include critical advisories from NOAA, NAAD System and soon IPAWS (Integrated Public Alert Warning System) ensures that individuals and organizations are kept out of harm's way by sharing National Government advisories quickly while MASAS aids in mobilizing first responders to save lives.
"Adding critical advisories to our platform is very exciting for us, our partners and customers. With AMS we are always pushing the envelope in relation to critical and emergency communications to help prevent loss of life. It makes perfect sense that both the AMS designed for on-premise and AmikaMobile.net cloud notification service leverage such vital information," said Amika Mobile CEO, Dr. Sue Abu-Hakima.
Demonstrations of the critical and emergency advisories from NOAA, NAAD, MASAS in CAP and CAP-CP format will be shown at ASIS 2013 Amika Mobile booth at the Ontario Pavilion Booth # 283 in Chicago, IL.
