NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Aug 14, 2013) - KnowRe (www.knowre.com), an innovative edtech company developing an online adaptive learning solution for mathematics, announces the release of an exciting set of new product features to coincide with the launch of their highly-anticipated in-school pilot program that has approximately 175 teachers and 8,000 students participating from across 34 cities in the U.S. and Canada. KnowRe's product update and pilot program are launching just months after KnowRe was named winner of "Best Instructional App" in the NYC School's Gap App Challenge. Over 200 apps were submitted for consideration and reviewed by 3 panels of judges including principals, teachers, Common Core fellows, Department of Education officials, and experts in technology, media, and design.
KnowRe's product update features an entirely new Pre-Algebra curriculum, a data-displaying Teacher's Dashboard, and a gamified reward system utilizing quests, challenges, coins and badges. The much-anticipated Teacher's Dashboard, which offers granular data about each student and class's progress, provides teachers the information needed to proactively address students' learning gaps. The product's latest addition of gamified elements is expected to help motivate and engage students with KnowRe's adaptive learning world and, most importantly, math learning.
"A math system that can adapt to fit a student's needs is the key component for authentic learning and true success," said Terry Chaney, Director of Learning Development at Responsive Education Solutions, a charter school network in Texas from which a select number of schools were invited to join KnowRe's pilot program.
William Fox, an Algebra teacher at Carver Middle School in Chester, Virginia, said, "Having a resource like KnowRe available to our students has everyone extremely excited. We look forward to seeing our students grow throughout the school year."
KnowRe's pilot is designed to gauge the potential of KnowRe's technology and examine the ways student data and game-like features can enhance the learning experience for both students and teachers. "KnowRe's pilot program will be an incredible time for us to bring math engagement, personalized learning, granular assessment, and useful data to our pilot teachers and schools. As we continue to develop the product, we look forward to bringing this type of learning environment to schools across the U.S. and the globe," said David Joo, Co-CEO and Co-founder of KnowRe.
