GOLDEN VALLEY, MN--(Marketwired - Aug 15, 2013) - After several hours of fun at the Minnesota State Fair, many fairgoers need to "recharge" in more ways than one. Health Fair 11 at the Fair is coming to their rescue with the R & R Station in Health Fair 11's location at the southwest corner of Dan Patch Avenue and Cooper Street. This site is the perfect place for fairgoers to "relax" their tired body and "recharge" a drained cell phone battery.
The R & R Station will have three kiosks for charging a variety of electronic devices -- free of charge. Because each kiosk can charge 10 devices simultaneously; up to 30 units can be repowered at once. While fairgoers wait for the brief recharge, they can relax on comfortable furniture from By the Yard. And they can enjoy a friendly "green" surrounding created by the landscape designers with Linder's Garden Centers.
One-stop shop for free or low-cost health screenings and information
Health Fair 11 invites fairgoers to take advantage of great health and wellness services available at Health Fair 11 at the Fair. Visitors can get a variety of free or low-cost health screenings, such as blood pressure checks, glucose (diabetes) tests, bone density and body composition measurements, hearing assessments, and official weight readings. Fairgoers also can get a flu shot, find out their blood type, and participate in concussion recovery exercises. There will be information on Minnesota's new health insurance marketplace (exchange), food allergies, and celiac disease. A guide to Fair vendors offering gluten-free food options also will be available.
Location, location, location
Health Fair 11 at the Fair and the R & R Station are inside the East Crossroads building, which is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The exhibit is made possible by Health Fair 11, a collaboration of KARE 11, UCare, and North Memorial Medical Center.
