PUNE, India, Aug. 16, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Qualitia, the Gartner 2013 Cool Vendor for Application Development and market leader in the scriptless Selenium test automation, today announced that noted technology entrepreneur and innovator Chetan Shah has joined the company as president. Shah takes the helm as Qualitia begins expanding its operations in Europe and the United Kingdom, and increasing its presence in the U.S.

Qualitia's scriptless test automation platform removes challenges around custom built frameworks by eliminating programming and enabling test engineers to build scalable, sustainable, and cost effective functional test automation. This becomes more relevant in context of agile development practices (diversified technologies and automation tools) by allowing users to adopt test automation quickly and standardize on the best practices.
In Shah's previous professional roles, his clients included Fortune 500 companies such as General Electric, Barclays, Deutsche Bank, Dow Jones, PepsiCo, Hewlett Packard and JPMorgan Chase. He sits on the boards of companies in the internet, mobile e-commerce, gaming, retail, and enterprise software.

Shah started his career with U.S.-based technology start-up Synygy, where he was instrumental in the company's product creation and global expansion across three continents. He left Synygy as its Global COO and Managing Director of Synygy India, with responsibility for worldwide sales, professional services and technology initiatives. During his tenure, he helped Synygy achieve "Hall of Fame" status on the Inc. 500 List–a feat achieved by fewer than 100 companies.
He next joined SANpulse and led the process to productize an internal data migration tool to a storage management product suite, enabling SANpulse to change its business model from consulting to a cloud-based SaaS vendor. He also established SANpulse global operations and built the company's entire software organization.
Shah is a member of Greater Philadelphia Senior Executive Group (GPSEG); past president and Advisory Council member of the Software Exporters' Association of Pune; and Charter Member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), Pune Chapter. He holds a Master's in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, US; and an MBA from the University of Scranton, Scranton, PA, US.
