LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 22, 2013) - Non-profit organization, Choice Group Inc. (CGI), marks its second annual gala with an intimate evening of celebrations, exhibitions and performances on Thursday, October 24 at the Annenberg Community Beach House (415 Pacific Coast Highway, Santa Monica, CA 90402) at 6:30 PM. This year's gala will showcase music, artwork and performances of Choice Group kids in the Los Angeles area along with special performances by award-winning recording duo and CGI Board Members, Erica and Tina Campbell of Mary Mary and Los Angeles-based singer Akelee. CGI, which is dedicated to providing quality new media arts after-school programs for inner city and foster youth, will recognize and honor Emmy-Nominated Tonight Show Musical Director Rickey Minor, who will receive the 2013 Choice Group Impact Award for his dedication to support and promote economic, educational and social opportunities for the under-served. The theme of the evening and overall message of CGI is "Dream Big, Raise More to Do More" which also happens to be the single that will be released by Choice Group exclusively on iTunes on October 24, 2013.
"I'm thrilled to be a part of Choice Group because they fill an important need for our youth by sustaining music education, and more broadly, arts education," said 2013 honoree Rickey Minor.
"This year's theme for the second annual gala is "Dream Big," said Choice Group Founder Dana Hammond. "We hope that we are able to raise more to do more locally and eventually globally."
"Dana has taken a vision and turned it into a reality for at-risk youth and as a result, he's making a difference in our community," said Mary Mary's Erica Campbell. "With more and more schools removing their music programs Choice Group is an outlet for kids to have something meaningful and life-enhancing after school."
"Dana is a hero in our community. We have watched him take children whose families are facing economic challenges and have little to no knowledge of music and in 6-8 weeks, they are learning how to read music and playing collectively, like professionals," says Tina Campbell of Mary Mary. "We support Choice Group and encourage others to get involved because Dana and his team have made and are really continuing to making a difference."
In an effort to gather support for its mission from the music and entertainment industries, CGI's gala not only aims to raise funds, but also bring attention to the impact CGI's programs has made on the South Los Angeles community for the past six years.
Choice Group participants will showcase musical performances and art exhibitions created during the 16-week program. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. To support the event or purchase tickets click the link: http://bit.ly/SaPOAt

ABOUT CHOICE GROUP INC.
Choice Group Inc. provides inner city and foster youth with a safe and nurturing environment that promotes music and related arts programs as recreational, educational and life-enhancing opportunities. We introduce program participants to an inspiring creative surrounding that fosters limitless artistry and imagination. From hands-on drum lessons and art classes, to high-tech music production and video game design sessions in a professional setting, we demonstrate that youth aren't at risk, but simply underexposed. The vision is to fill the void of quality arts after-school programs within the Los Angeles community.
CGI aims to nurture the inherent talent, potential, and enthusiasm of young people from inner city communities of Los Angeles, so that they can embrace the arts and education as vehicles to greater success in life. Music and arts programs, otherwise unavailable to many of the youth in the areas that CGI serves, nurture the kind of inner harmony, self-confidence and awareness, community engagement, and exposure to service, which conceive more mature, educated, and community-minded individuals.
