NEW YORK, Aug. 22, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In preparation for the back to school season, The Ailey Extension, The Ailey Organization's program of dance and fitness classes for the general public, is opening its state-of-art dance center on Manhattan's Midtown West Side to host a PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT ZUMBA PARTY presented by Teen Diaries and Women on the Move. The event will take place August 24, 2013 at The Ailey Studios (405 W. 55th Street) and will be hosted by beloved actress, songstress, dancer and TV personality, Adrienne Bailon.
Mentors joining the event include radio personality and marketing maven, Simone "Boss Lady" Amelia, VH1's Love & Hip Hop's Tahiry Jose, ESSENCE Senior Health and Relationships Editor, Sharon Boone, Black Girls Code's Donna Knutt, Balan Inc. co-founder, Michou St. Jules, Celebrity Nail Artist, Dawn Sterling, MVD Inc.'s Massah David, Dr. Afriye Amerson and Ernst & Young's Erin Hajj with Sirius XM's DJ S. Catering to teenage girls ages 13-18, Pretty Girls Sweat (PGS) is a community-based fitness initiative designed to highlight non-traditional workouts, group activities, delicious recipes and oodles of SWEAT-spiration for teens and college students who LOVE or HATE to exercise. Women On The Move (WOTM), a New York-based female empowerment organization, is joining forces with PGS, providing female mentors accomplished in their perspective fields with a day of fun-filled activities they can enjoy while inspiring and educating young girls to become their best selves.
