COLUMBIA, Mo., Sept. 11, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Freebirds World Burrito, the fast casual burrito concept, will open a new location in Columbia, Mo. on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 at 11 a.m.
Known for its unapologetically independent and rock music-inspired approach to burritos, tacos and nachos, Freebirds World Burrito will introduce itself to the community by rewarding the first 25 loyal customers at the location with free burritos for a year. As supplement to its freestanding approach to food, Freebirds World Burrito and its charitable arm, World Works, collected donations prior to the grand opening on behalf of the Food Bank of Central & Northeast Mo. and the Boys & Girls Club of Columbia.
The new Columbia location is the seventh restaurant for FB Midwest Development, LLC, the first franchisee of Freebirds World Burrito. Tavistock Restaurant's fast casual concept currently operates more than 90 locations across California, Texas and Oklahoma.

Every Freebirds World Burrito guest is partnered with a team member or "roller" to help them choose their meal, with exactly 35 trillion combinations available from various burrito sizes and tortilla flavors, to more than 40 fresh ingredients including grass-fed beef, hormone-free chicken and all-natural slow roasted carnitas. Entrees are topped with hand-chopped vegetables and fresh-made salsas including the restaurant's famous Death Sauce.
The new Freebirds World Burrito, located at 1020 E Broadway, will employ approximately 60 team members from the local community. The restaurant will be open and operate from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
