DENVER, CO--(Marketwired - Sep 16, 2013) - Peak®, formerly PeakColo®, a leading enterprise-class IaaS Cloud service provider for channel partners, today announced a new distribution agreement with Westcon Group's Comstor business unit, a value-added distributor of category-leading unified communications, network infrastructure, data center and security solutions with a global network of specialty resellers. Through its Cisco-dedicated business, the distributor will enable Peak-powered services to be sold by the partner community, extending benefits of cloud computing to hundreds of service providers nationally.
As part of this strategic agreement, resellers will white-label Peak's cloud services under their own brand, delivering a wide range of cloud-enabled services, such as: disaster recovery, hybrid production cloud, backup-as-a-service and virtual desktop. Peak's channel-only model provides a significant advantage to distributors and value-added resellers (VARs) seeking to offer high-end, resilient cloud services without fear of competition from their cloud provider.
Comstor's offerings provide VARs use of Peak's vendor-agnostic virtualization platform. This flexible advantage offers resellers the use of the hypervisor, backup, and security platforms of their choice and creates interoperability for all solutions. Offerings are based on Cisco UCS FlexPod compute infrastructure and NetApp storage.
"Comstor is a highly respected global player in the reseller industry and we are thrilled to partner with them. Featuring Peak's cloud service signifies they are committed to assisting resellers as they pivot toward OPEX service-based models," comments Luke Norris, CEO and Founder of Peak. "Because we are 100% channel-centric, Westcon and its various divisions do not have to worry about competing with our sales teams. Their sales force can exclusively introduce Peak's cloud platform for a truly high performance and scalable cloud environment."
"Comstor has a rich history in Cisco technology and fully understands the importance of data center and cloud computing services in the channel," Geoff Fancher, Senior Vice President, Comstor US. "Peak's highly available cloud platform will reside on equipment our specialty resellers incorporate into a broad range of powerful solutions -- helping drive new revenue for their business."
The Powered by Peak designation is a unique label reserved for Peak's white-label distributors, VARs and resellers and indicates their participation on Peak's cloud with direct accessibility to powerful on-demand compute, storage and network resources. Peak's cloud nodes, located in six geographies across the globe, enable production workloads, disaster recovery solutions and storage offerings.
