TROY, Mich., Sept. 16, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The City of Edmond, Okla. Public Safety Communications Department and Fire Department have selected' Aegis™ Public Safety software to replace disparate software systems. New World's solutions will improve public safety information sharing and communication for emergency responders citywide.
The City of Edmond Police Department selected New World's Aegis Law Enforcement solutions in 2012. Soon after, the Communications Department and Fire Department conducted a review of public safety software and found that New World offered the best technology and functionality to meet their needs. They also recognized the benefits of selecting a unified suite of software for all three disciplines – police, fire and dispatch.
"In public safety, the ability to share information and communicate across all disciplines is very important," said Fire Chief Jake Rhoades. "New World's software will improve the consistency of information throughout the City. For example, if the police have safety information regarding an address, the fire department will also have that information at our fingertips when responding to a call."
New World is providing Edmond Communications and Fire Departments with Aegis Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Fire Records Management and Fire Mobile Computing software. The new applications will integrate seamlessly with the Aegis Law Enforcement Records Management, Mobile Computing and Corrections Management software the Edmond Police Department is currently implementing. The seamless flow of information between all of the applications will help dispatchers reduce emergency response times, while increasing safety and efficiency for officers and firefighters.
