BETHESDA, MD--(Marketwired - Sep 27, 2013) - Jordan R. VanOort, a Financial Advisor with the Collins Investment Group in Bethesda, MD, has earned the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation.
The CFA charter represents a tradition of upholding standards of education and integrity in the investment profession. The charter is recognized by employers, investment professionals, and investors as competence, integrity, and dedication of serious investment professionals.
Recipients of the CFA charter have successfully completed the CFA Program, a graduate-level, self- study curriculum and a series of three intensive examinations taken sequentially, which, in total, takes most candidates between two and five years. Candidate surveys report that preparation for the three exams typically requires at least 900 combined hours of study.
The CFA Program, which is administered by CFA Institute, the global non-profit association of investment professionals, sets a standard that is acknowledged for measuring the competence and integrity of financial analysts, portfolio managers, and investment advisers. Currently, more than 100,000 investment professionals in 135 countries and territories hold the CFA charter.
Mr. VanOort earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Yale University in 2006, and since graduating has enhanced his knowledge of the economy and financial markets as a Financial Advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors. After receiving his Series 7 and Series 66 securities registrations, Mr. VanOort joined the Collins Investment Group in January 2008 where he identifies and screens equity investments and follows characteristics of financial markets. As a Certified Financial Planner™, Mr. VanOort advises clients on retirement planning, estate planning, education funding, cash flow management and investment planning. Mr. VanOort is a native of Corning, New York and currently resides in Bethesda, Maryland.
"I'm grateful for the support, encouragement, and confidence of my family, co-workers, colleagues, and clients," stated Mr. VanOort. "The shared sense of accomplishment, as well as the reputation and responsibility associated with achieving the CFA designation means a lot to me. One of my continual goals in upholding the values of CFA Institute is to ensure that clients and colleagues feel as proud to work with a CFA Charterholder as I feel for carrying the designation."
