NEW YORK, Oct. 1, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Willis Capital Markets & Advisory (WCMA), the capital markets and advisory business of Willis Group Holdings (NYSE:WSH), the global risk advisor, insurance and reinsurance broker, has announced the appointment of Brad Livingston as Vice President of Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS), effective October 14th.
Based in New York, Livingston will help drive WCMA's continued expansion into the ILS space, as the company continues to invest in and build its ILS practice to capitalize on growing opportunities in the sector.
Livingston has a strong background in both capital markets and reinsurance, most recently working as a broker for Guy Carpenter with responsibility for developing and structuring property reinsurance treaties.
Prior to this he worked for Guy Carpenter's investment banking division, GC Securities, where he focused on the marketing, origination and structuring of insurance-linked securities for global insurance and reinsurance companies.
Commenting on Livingston's appointment, Tony Ursano, CEO of WCMA, said: "Through hiring Brad WCMA is demonstrating its commitment to capitalising on the growing opportunities in the ILS market. Brad brings a tremendous combination of reinsurance broking and capital markets experience. I am thrilled that he has decided to join our team and look forward to his contribution in driving our ILS brand forward."
Bill Dubinsky, Head of ILS at WCMA, said: "Brad's hands-on experience of working on a wide range of deals will benefit our clients as we help them take advantage of the broad spectrum of available capital markets capacity."
