Highstreet Brings the Holidays to New Highs with 62 Foot Tree Lighting

Fraser Valley's Highstreet Shopping Centre is saying hello to the holidays and officially welcoming the community to the newest shopping and holiday experience in the Lower Mainland.

The launch event held November 30, 2013 will feature a 62 foot tree lighting, measuring one of the largest in BC and rivaling New York's Rockefeller Center tree. An 80 piece marching band and real horse drawn sleigh will welcome Santa and his elves to Highstreet in a 100+ performer parade amongst the snow and lights. The stage in front of the tree will feature concerts every Friday and Saturday nights leading to Christmas including performances from Side One, Reid Jamieson, the Green Heart Chorus, and DJ Pri.

In addition, Highstreet is taking Santa high tech with a photo booth app that will give parents a head's up on line waits for that coveted picture with Mr. Claus, helping to maximize shopping time and assist with the busy to-do list.

The Urban Pop Up Market presented by Spruce will return to Highstreet with a holiday themed market featuring one of a kind, locally made and vintage inspired goods. In addition Highstreet retailers will have extended holiday hours, including recently opened H&M as well gift wrapping by donation with proceeds going to the Salvation Army Kettle Drive.

The holiday campaign will also serve as the centre's official grand opening, which showcases Highstreet's focus beyond a traditional shopping centre and into a vital and engaging urban heart of the community. The official tree lighting and holiday launch parade takes place at 5pm on November 30^th and parade will be repeated on the following 3 weekends with special programming running until Christmas day.
