EDGEWOOD, MD., Nov. 20, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Smiths Detection today announced a $14.1 million order from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for supplies, parts and services to maintain X-ray cargo scanners deployed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
The maintenance will be performed on HCVM and HCVG scanners, high energy systems that screen vehicles and freight for explosives and contraband at ports and border crossings. The order will help ensure CBP screening remains continuously operational.
