More orders to Saab within the Airbus A380 program

On November 17, 2013 Airbus announced from the Dubai Airshow that the airline
Emirates orders 50 additional Airbus A380 aircraft. With this order, defence and
security company Saab - supplying the mid and outer fixed wing leading edge to
the A380 aircraft - secures an order intake of 580 MSEK and confirmed production
until 2018.
In June 2003, Saab signed a framework agreement with Airbus for the development
and production of the mid and outer fixed wing leading edge of the A380 during
the program's life. Emirates order of an additional 50 A380 aircraft means that
Saab secures order intake valued to 580 MSEK and production until 2018.

“Saab has a unique expertise as a manufacturer of complex airframe assemblies
that meets aircraft manufacturers' high requirements to a very competitive
price. With this order intake Saab secures production up until 2018,” says Lars
Jensen, head of Saab’s business unit Aerostructures.

To date, Airbus has received orders for 309 A380 aircraft from 20 customers.
Since the signing of the frame work agreement in 2003, Saab has delivered 160
pairs of the mid and outer fixed wing leading edge to Airbus in Broughton, UK,
where final assembly of the wings takes place.
At Saab about 500 employees works with the development and production of complex
airframe assemblies to the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers Boeing and
Airbus. In addition to the mid and outer fixed wing leading edge for the A380
Saab manufactures ailerons and doors to several Airbus and Boeing aircraft.
Saab serves the global market with world-leading products, services and
solutions ranging from military defence to civil security. Saab has operations
and employees on all continents and constantly develops, adopts and improves new
