Magma Announces New Strategic Business Development Director

SAN DIEGO, Nov. 25, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Magma, a developer of computer expansion products for servers, desktops and portable platforms, is pleased to announce its recent hire of Jim Medeiros, who has joined the Magma team as Strategic Business Development Director. This position is a newly created role designed to grow the company's presence in select U.S. markets and in Europe.

Within this role, Medeiros will drive growth of global sales and the development of strategic customers. His focus will be on building the business from a sales perspective with a strong push in global markets. Medeiros's proven background in design and engineering, business development, and helping to bring several successful products and initiatives to market, along with years of experience in the computer hardware industry, will help ensure Magma continues to grow and further it's leadership position in the PCI Express expansion market.

Medeiros comes to Magma with over 27 years of experience in the high tech product development industry. Most recently, he was the CEO for Perceptive Development, Inc., a company that develops complete mobile solutions and innovative new products for a variety of mobile platforms. Prior to Perceptive Development, Medeiros was the President of Seven Pinnacles, Inc., a general consulting company for embedded applications. He also served as General Manager and Vice President of Marketing for Performance Technologies, Inc., and was the Communications Systems Director with Intel. The majority of his career was spent at Ziatech Corporation holding a variety of positions that included, Vice President of Business Development, Product Marketing Manager, CompactPCI R &D Manager.
