HUNTINGTON STATION, NY--(Marketwired - Dec 17, 2013) - Teq, the educational technology and professional development company, today launched the first live, interactive online professional development offering, with more than 50-web based courses for K-12 educators. At Benjamin Cardozo High School in New York City, they are rolling out Teq Online PD (Professional Development) for use by all of its teachers. In addition, the Teq online professional development program has already been successfully used by teachers across the country, with rave reviews.
Teq Online PD courses are broadcast live and in person via the web, providing a format that allows educators to interact with the instructor, then review the recorded video at their own pace. Teq Online PD is aimed at tackling the biggest challenges facing teachers within a framework that supports a Common Core curriculum, to better prepare students for future achievement in college and careers. The more than 50 courses, offered on a rotating basis, include "Math and Your Interactive Whiteboard," "Early Childhood Literacy," "SMART Board Certification," "Google Apps," and "Learning with the iPad."
With increasingly hectic work schedules, Teq Online PD enables teachers to complete courses to meet their professional development requirements without having to miss valuable class time. After the course is broadcast live, it is archived for future reference. For each course, teachers receive badges for participation and certificates of attendance.
"We've provided professional development to thousands of teachers for nearly a decade, and we are excited to be bringing that same high level of quality and engagement to an online platform," said Teq CEO Damian Scarfo. "Teq Online PD allows us to reach more teachers and administrators than ever before, helping us have an even greater impact on student achievement across the country."
"Our instructional technology team ran this program for eight weeks with teachers across the country and the feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive," said Teq's Chief Learning Officer Joe Dixon. "Our online professional development offering is already helping teachers increase their effectiveness, master the Common Core, and maximize technology integration."
New Jersey teacher Stephanie Walden said about Teq Online PD, "I truly enjoyed the learning experience and being able to 'chat' with both colleagues and facilitators. It made the learning experience so much more valuable."
Teq online PD provides district and school administrators with an affordable way to provide live and on-demand professional development for each teacher. For more information, visit www.teq.com or call 877-455-9369
