PARIS, FRANCE--(Marketwired - Jan 8, 2014) - Few rituals are as quintessentially French as cocktail hour, except perhaps that of fashion. And visitors to the City of Light can experience both at the Renaissance Paris Vendome Hotel, which has expertly fused together these two grand traditions into one, limited-time menu of warm cocktails.
The hotel has long enjoyed a reputation for fine dining in Paris, France. Its Le Pinxo restaurant, after all, features the authentic French cuisine -- creatively served in three portions -- of the Michelin-starred chef Alain Dutournier. But the hotel's latest gastronomic enticement isn't to be found in Le Pinxo but rather the cozy Bar Chinois.
After settling in to an amply sized chair within the cozy bar, guests can take a moment to decide which of the two menu options, Hot Cocktail Brut or Hot Cocktail Doux, sounds most appealing. While both drinks begin with the iconic French cider of Loïc Raison and are toasty enough to keep Old Man Winter at bay, the similarities end there. Hot Cocktail Brut is composed of warm apple sauce with frothy egg white and apple cider. Hot Cocktail Doux, meanwhile, is inspired by Breton traditions but updated for a Parisian palate: Its apple cider receives a mint infusion for a result that is both sweet and delicately scented.
The Hot Cocktails are part of the hotel's RLife LIVE program, which sets the property apart from other Paris hotels as it explores culinary and cultural trends and traditions in a hands-on way for guests. The drinks were devised by Bootlegger mixologists at this five-star hotel in Paris and have accordingly blended the best of tradition with modern panache. Not only do these stylish sips help guests warm up, they also make an excellent introduction to Paris, France's fine-dining scene. After all, dinner at Le Pinxo should only be preceded by something as original as this.
Thirsty guests have to move quickly to try the Hot Cocktails, however. The expert mixologists at Bar Chinois will only be pouring them between 3 and 8 p.m. until March 15, 2014.
About the Renaissance Paris Vendome Hotel
Indulging in the best of Paris is as easy as staying at the Renaissance Paris Vendome Hotel, where guests are treated to luxurious accommodations, world-class cuisine and a location just steps away from all the best sights. The five-star boutique hotel has outfitted its guest rooms with flat-screen LCD televisions, marble bathrooms, sumptuous bedding and 24-hour in-room dining. Of course, with Le Pinxo on property, the French restaurant helmed by Michelin-starred chef Alain Dutournier, guests are just as likely to want to book a table at the sleek restaurant. While Paris' most notable attractions like the Louvre and Orsay museums are close by, visitors in need of a little rejuvenation before pounding the pavement can book a massage or facial at the hotel's Vendome SPA by Asian Villa. A fitness center, indoor spa and sauna are also available to guests, while one meeting room with 258 square feet of space ensures any gathering is both stylish and memorable. And that is one Parisian experience worth toasting at the hotel's other dining spot, Bar Chinois, where the drinks are as dramatic as the city itself.
