SCOTTSDALE, AZ--(Marketwired - Feb 25, 2014) - Beamz Interactive, Inc. (
As part of the new distribution agreement, Beamz will provide Tobii with a range of interactive music software and music content to offer with their assistive technology eye gaze solutions. Beamz will also provide Tobii with its proprietary interactive music hardware for distribution by Tobii through its worldwide distribution network, including over 60 distributors throughout the world, over 20 sales reps in the United States, and offices in Sweden, the United Kingdom, Japan, China and Norway.
"We're proud to announce this exciting new partnership with Tobii," said Charlie Mollo, CEO of Beamz Interactive. "As the leader in eye-tracking technology, Tobii is perfectly positioned to improve the way that those with special needs can not only experience, but truly interact with music. By pairing our products with eye tracking we have completely revolutionized the way these individuals interact and create their own music, and we are thrilled to be working alongside Tobii."
"Through this partnership with Beamz, we are able to provide our users with an entirely new outlet for recreation and creative expression, enhancing their leisure time and allowing them to do even more with our world-renown devices," said Fredrik Ruben, President of Tobii Assistive Technology. "Beamz is recognized for premium products and a deep commitment to bringing the next wave of interactive music technology to fruition. Our organizations complement each other in a way that brings exciting new content to individuals with disabilities."
Pursuant to the strategic partnership, Beamz is developing a special version of its interactive music system -- with wider "laser beams" and additional content -- to optimize use with the Tobii assistive technology devices. The new system will allow individuals of all ages and abilities to experience the fun and excitement of creating interactive music, either by moving their hands through laser beams with the provided hardware, or on-screen by using Tobii Eye Gaze technology. This interactivity can be done individually, or with a friend.
"The strategic agreement between Beamz Interactive and Tobii is extremely exciting," said Rod Lewis, Managing Director of Beamz Europe. "The combination of Tobii's eye tracking technology and our proprietary laser controller technology and music content provides users with the opportunity of a truly engaging and immersive experience. Our strategic partnership provides exciting application across assistive technology, special educational needs, as well as consumer gaming applications."
The Beamz Education and Healthcare products are compatible with multiple platforms and come supplied with at least 50 songs across all genres. In addition, Beamz has developed new activity guides, which provide structured activities that showcase how Beamz can be used in many different settings for a variety of purposes. The Beamz music system has become an important device for children of all abilities because music is such an excellent vehicle to teach learning concepts and achieve developmental milestones.
