Hubbell Communications Expands

PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwired - Mar 5, 2014) - Hubbell Communications, Oregon's leading public affairs firm, has expanded, recently adding two new members to its team.

Kara Hansen, Account Executive:

With a background in print and digital journalism, Hansen brings a decade of media experience and contacts to her position as an Account Executive at Hubbell.

She previously served as news editor of the Lake Oswego Review and assistant editor of the West Linn Tidings, two newspapers in a portfolio of more than 20 owned by Pamplin Media Group, where she performed a wide variety of duties while building a solid understanding of public policy and current issues throughout the region. In addition to writing and editing, Hansen worked with television and radio news partners and helped manage website content and social media.

Before moving to Portland to work for Pamplin, Hansen was a reporter at The Daily Astorian newspaper on the coast. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism with a minor in business from University of Oregon.

Michele Biehler, Business Manager:

Biehler, the firm's new Business Manager, has a broad and deep background in business management and accounting.

Originally from Montana, Biehler previously worked for a political fundraising firm in Austin, Texas, as well as for a San Francisco public relations company with a focus on the hospitality industry.

She holds a Master of Business Administration from George Fox University and a Bachelor of Science in community development with a focus on accounting and real estate from Portland State University.

At Hubbell Communications, she provides management support to various departments and oversees ongoing fiscal operations. Her day-to-day work tasks range from finances and bookkeeping to human resources and IT management.
