PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwired - Mar 6, 2014) - Dr. Louis Bucky, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Philadelphia, recently returned from the 48th Annual Baker Gordon Educational Symposium where he lectured, participated in a panel discussion, and performed a live surgery over closed circuit television.
Dr. Bucky's lecture -- titled, "Utilizing Autologous Fat Grafting for Revision Breast Augmentation" -- focused on the application of large volume fat transfer for revision breast surgery, both reconstructive and cosmetic, with implants as a primary treatment. During the lecture, he conveyed the role fat grafting plays as a potential additive and enhancement to results achieved simply by replacing one implant with another.
Following his lecture, Dr. Bucky joined a panel with three other esteemed surgeons to discuss "Long Term Solutions in Reoperative Breast Augmentation." During this panel discussion, he and his colleagues determined large volume fat grating provides a unique solution for patients who have undergone previous breast surgery and who no longer require or desire breast implants.
Lastly, Dr. Bucky showcased the technique on which he had previously lectured by performing large volume fat grafting on a patient who had four previous implant surgeries. The surgery was conducted live and transmitted to the audience members in attendance over closed circuit television.
In regard to his overall experience at the Baker Gordon Symposium, Dr. Bucky said: "Presenting and operating live at the Baker Gordon Symposium is one of the top honors a plastic surgeon could receive in plastic surgery today. The instructional opportunity and feedback associated with operating in front of your peers is unparalleled. The positive response I received from the lecture and surgery was fantastic."
