WELLESLEY, Mass., March 17, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Paydiant co-founder Chris Gardner will help kick off the Innovation Project 2014 taking place this week, March 19-20, at Annenberg Hall on the Harvard University campus. The event will convene industry leaders in payments and commerce to discuss the innovation taking place in global commerce, retail, mobile payments, digital cash, security and the consumer experience. It features more than 60 different speakers.
Gardner will be part of the opening session – a panel discussion titled The Reinvention of Payments; Who's Driving It or Being Driven to Extinction? Who Will Rule the Payments and Commerce Kingdom for the Next 50 Years? He is one of ten senior executives – five incumbents and five new challengers – from across the payments ecosystem debating the future of payments and commerce in the face of new technologies, new regulations and changing consumer expectations. The father of modern business strategy, Michael Porter, and Fox Business News Analyst Liz Claman will facilitate the debate and draw out new insights from the panel of innovators which also includes executives from Blackhawk, Chase Merchant Services, clearXchange, Discover, LevelUp, MCX, NACHA, Official Payments, Qualcomm Retail Solutions and Pitney Bowes. The session runs from 8:15 – 10:15 am on Wednesday, March 19.
Paydiant is also a finalist for two 2014 PYMNTS Innovator Awards which will be announced the evening of Thursday, March 20 during a live ceremony at the event. In the Most Invisible Player category, Paydiant is being recognized for its patented, cloud-based, white-label mobile payment, offer redemption and loyalty platform that allows merchants, banks and payment processors to deploy and manage their own mobile wallets, in their own branded apps. The solution integrates easily with retailers' and banks' existing mobile apps, loyalty platforms and point-of-sale (POS) infrastructure. Other finalists in the category include Mitek Systems, IP Payments, Curaxian and Early Warning.
In the Best Cash Innovation category, Paydiant is being recognized for its patented, cloud-based transaction processing platform that enables consumers to use their smartphones, instead of their debit or credit cards, to securely withdraw cash from ATMs. Other finalists in the category include Prepay Nation, PayNearMe, incomm and Monitise.
Paydiant will also be demonstrating two innovations at the event. One will be the ATM cash access solution which is up for the Best Cash Innovation Award. The other is a mobile experience which enables consumers to purchase goods from vending machines using just their smartphone. Both solutions will be on display at the Innovation Expo.
