DELRAY BEACH, FL, March 20, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- This World Water Day, March 22, Uniworld Boutique River
Cruise Collection and its partner in sustainable
tourism, The TreadRight
Foundation, will be proudly taking part in
WHOLE WORLD Water's (WWW)
global campaign to give the
#WholeWorldWater.
WWW works to provide clean and safe water to the world's nearly 1
billion people living without access to potable water and nearly
2.4 billion living without basic sanitation. WWW's goal is to unite
the hospitality and tourism industry in an effort to filter, bottle
and sell water in reusable glass bottles. Participating companies
donate or give a percentage of the profits from water sales to WWW,
with a view to raising $1 billion annually. 100% of the
money raised goes to fund water projects globally.
Uniworld and TreadRight join Edward Norton and Sir Richard Branson
in supporting WWW's 2014 World Water Day campaign with the message,
give the #WholeWorldWater. Uniworld will
promote the campaign on their website, through their social media
channels and onboard their ships. The campaign is a call
for consumers to request WHOLE WORLD Water from hotels and
restaurants and to gain greater industry support of the
WWW cause.
Uniworld participates in WHOLE WORLD Water's global campaign by
donating $1 for each guest that travels on a Uniworld ship in
Europe. Uniworld will also continue to bottle its own water, reduce
plastic waste and put a great emphasis on educating travelers on
the gravity of the global water issue.
"Uniworld is proud to partner with WHOLE WORLD Water on such a
worthwhile endeavor as bringing clean and safe water to those who
don't have access to it," states Guy Young, President of
Uniworld.
