Schoff to join Ohio National as Senior Vice President and General Counsel

CINCINNATI, OH--(Marketwired - Mar 21, 2014) - Ohio National is pleased to announce that Dennis L. Schoff, an attorney with more than 20 years of executive experience in financial services, is joining the organization as Senior Vice President and General Counsel, effective March 31.

Schoff has been Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Trustmark Companies since 2010, following nearly 20 years of senior level experience at Lincoln Financial Group, including the position of Senior Vice President and General Counsel.

Schoff succeeds Michael F. Haverkamp, who will be assisting with the transition prior to his June 1 retirement. Haverkamp joined Ohio National as Senior Vice President and General Counsel in 1996 following a 22-year career with Frost Brown Todd (formerly Frost & Jacobs).

Schoff earned his bachelor's degree in finance from Indiana University and graduated cum laude from Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington, Ind. He began his career as a bank examiner with the Federal Deposit Insurance Company and later served as a corporate associate at Taft, Stettinius & Hollister before joining Lincoln National.

Active in the industry, Schoff is past president of the Association of Life Insurance Counsel and former chair of the compliance and legal section of American Council of Life Insurers.
