More Tools That Every Entrepreneur Should Have to Be Successful

NEW YORK, N.Y., March 25, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Jimmy Newson, director and filmmaker, went out to Times Square last week and asked the entrepreneurial community what specific "tools of the trade" does every entrepreneur need in order to be successful? We reported five the other day, now here's the rest.

"No entrepreneur works and develops their business alone and in a vacuum. Any successful entrepreneur will tell you that building relationships and networking will greatly help you to advance your business. Connecting with people by learning about someone else's business and making referrals is the way any experienced business connection will work. Networking can work face-to-face or through a social media channel, like LinkedIn or Facebook," says Jimmy Newson.

"It's not just about the money.  If you are in business only to make money, and for no other reason, then it may not last long.  If you truly have a desire to help people, and bring value and integrity to every person you meet, your business will grow and thrive over time," says Ashleigh Mooney, Director of Business Finishing School.

Jimmy feels that once you decide to set up your business, it's best to do industry specific research and find resources that you may collaborate with or develop affiliate partnerships.  A good source is the local Small Business Center, SCORE, or the research center at the NYC Science and Industry Business Library (SIBL).  While doing your research, find out if you need a patent or copyright for your product.  Then your next step is to speak with a business law attorney to file your LLC or Corporation papers.  If you require help to develop or design your product, or an extra set of hands for services, no need to hire a full-time person if you are not ready.  Think about finding freelancers through networking practices, social media or online sources like Sologig, DeskDonkie or Elance.

"The last thing to mention is something that every successful entrepreneur does, stay focused on learning, growing, changing and innovating, both personally and professionally," says Rick Sapio, Co-Founder of Business Finishing School, who appears in the movie along with Ashleigh Mooney.
