WASHINGTON, DC, March 31, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Genetics Policy Institute (GPI) announced today that Bernard Siegel, founder and executive director of GPI and chair of the Stem Cell Action Coalition, will provide a policy address titled, "Past, Present and Future – The Impact of the Patient Advocacy Movement on Regenerative Medicine" at the Third World Congress for Freedom of Scientific Research to be held April 4-6 at the Italian Chamber of Deputies and at the Capitoline Hill in Rome, Italy. The Congress proceedings are under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health and the City of Rome.
The Congress' theme is "Bridging the Gap Between Science and Politics." Among the dignitaries attending and providing remarks are the program chair, Roberto Giachetti, Vice President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies; Giorgio Napolitano, President of the Italian Republic, and Pietro Grasso, President of the Senate of the Italian Republic.
The World Congress of Freedom of Scientific Research brings together some of the leading thought-leaders in the fields of science, ethics, policy, law and advocacy.
