Rock the Earth Co-Hosts Earth Day Events Around the U.S.

• Rock the Earth Supports Activities in Major Cities, Including Chicago, Denver, New York and San Francisco, throughout April
• Hosts Second Annual Amazing Rock the Earth Race

Rock the Earth, a national nonprofit environmental organization that partners with the music industry, today announced various events and volunteer opportunities planned across the country throughout the month of April to support Earth Day and Earth Month.

Earth Day is celebrated annually on April 22, and brings local and global awareness to environmental protection. Each year, Rock the Earth organizes local events and businesses across the U.S. throughout April to encourage action for the cause.

"We have volunteers across the country organizing park and city cleanups, and other events and activities to help people give time or give back in support of a healthy and sustainable planet," explained Marc Ross, executive director and founder of Rock the Earth. "For Rock the Earth, every day is Earth Day, but every April we get this fantastic opportunity to educate and mobilize the general public and generate even more interest in saving the planet. Together we rock the Earth a little more in April in an effort to expand Earth Day into Earth Month."

Rock the Earth Supports Earth Day Efforts across the U.S.

Rock the Earth partners with groups and volunteers to help mobilize public support and empower change. In April, Rock the Earth will support several events around the country.

Volunteer Opportunities and Events
On Saturday, April 19, Rock the Earth volunteers will host an Earth Day cleanup at Lincoln Park in Chicago. Volunteers will team up from 12-3 p.m. ET to clean up the popular city park. Contact jenniferf@rocktheearth.org for more information and to RSVP as a volunteer.

In San Francisco, public relations agencies will band together on Tuesday, April 22 to support Earth Day and Rock the Earth. For the second year, a number of agencies will send volunteers to work with the National Park Service, and agencies will also donate to Rock the Earth. Participating agencies include Bateman Group, BOCA Communications, Eastwick, Flashpoint PR, Highwire PR, K/F Communications, Kulesa Faul and Mindshare PR.

Rock the Earth will host a cleanup at Riverbank State Park in New York City on Saturday, April 26, from 3-5 p.m. ET, to pick up garbage and educate park visitors on reducing waste. Volunteers are invited to meet at the cul de sac inside the park, located at the end of 145^th Street. On Saturday, April 26, Rock the Earth will also participate in the One Day on Earth global project, documenting the Rock the Earth education and outreach team working at the Andrew McConathy & The Drunken Hearts concert at Bluebird Theatre in Denver. Donate and Give Back, while Supporting Local Business
For the ninth year in a row, Herbs and Arts in Denver will donate 20 percent of in-store and online sales on Saturday, April 19 to Rock the Earth. Herbs and Arts, located at 2015 E. Colfax Ave., has served the metaphysical community for many years.

Rock the Earth, AEG Live and the Best Buy Theatre in New York City will co-host an Earth Month clothing drive on Saturday, April 19, and Monday, April 21. Patrons who donate clothes will receive a non-alcoholic drink ticket for the theatre.

Chef Charlie Ayers and Calafia Café in Palo Alto will donate a percentage of all sales during the month of April to Rock the Earth.

The Mimi Fishman Foundation will host a charity auction from April 20 until May 12 to benefit Rock the Earth. Donated items include tickets to some of the top music festivals in the U.S., including Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Summer Camp and Mountain Jam, a three-day mountaineering trip of Mt. Baker donated by Alpine Ascents, and a new acoustic Taylor guitar signed by Phish's Trey Anastasio and donated by Taylor Guitars.

Coming April 27: The Second Annual Amazing Rock the Earth Race

Rock the Earth will also host the second annual Amazing Rock the Earth Race in Denver on Sunday, April 27. The race combines the excitement of the popular television show, "The Amazing Race," with the seminal aspects of Rock the Earth -- music and the environment -- as participants navigate challenges and clues taking them to some of Colorado's most noted music venues and natural places.
