LOS ALTOS, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 29, 2014) - Black Angus Steakhouse, a 45-unit Steakhouse that captures the flavor of the American West, is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2014. To commemorate the milestone, Black Angus, which was founded by Washington cattle rancher, Stuart Anderson, will tip its hat to the brand's rich heritage and company culture centered on honest hard work and life's little pleasures, like a great steakhouse dinner. The year-long celebration will include the introduction of enticing new menu items, a variety of exciting promotions, and social media giveaways as a way to thank guests for their loyalty over the years.
"Black Angus has always been a place guests can depend on for an outstanding steak dinner at an affordable price," said Merry Taylor, President and Chief Executive Officer. "Steaks aren't just our heritage, they're our passion; and we will continue to celebrate great steak and honor the authentic rancher roots upon which Black Angus was founded."
50 Years... the Black Angus Way
In 1964, Black Angus Steakhouse was a pioneer in providing a high-quality steakhouse dinner at an affordable price. Five decades later, steaks are still prepared the Black Angus way: fresh-cut in-house, aged a minimum of 21 days to ensure maximum tenderness and flavor, then grilled over an open flame to sear in that under-the-stars, over-the-campfire flavor. Just before Black Angus steaks come off the fire, they are lightly brushed with a savory seasoned butter to give them the extra richness that sets Black Angus apart from others.
Along with perfectly-prepared steaks, Black Angus is famous for its seasoned, slow roasted prime rib. Guests can choose from a selection of 16 sumptuous side dishes, such as cheesy Au Gratin Potatoes, Fresh Green Beans with Bacon, or a crisp wedge salad to complement every meal. New Sharable Classics feature shareable steakhouse sides such as Haystack Onion Rings and Grilled Asparagus. This year, Black Angus will also introduce a variety of mouthwatering limited time offers such as rack of lamb, a mixed grill trio and innovative seasonal desserts like the White Chocolate Bread Pudding with warm Butterscotch Sauce.
Anniversary Classic Cocktails
Black Angus kicked off its 50th year by introducing an anniversary classic cocktail menu featuring timeless, hand-crafted libations like the Manhattan, Old Fashioned, Side Car and Rob Roy. And on Tuesdays, guests may enjoy any featured classic cocktail for only $5.00.
The BullsEye Bar
Black Angus' BullsEye Bar, currently in 29 of its 45 locations, shows off the lively personality of the brand in a casual sports bar environment with a menu that offers "steak takes" on traditional bar food, such as Filet Mignon Sliders and Steakhouse Tacos. The BullsEye Bar also offers weekday happy hour from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with drink and appetizer specials starting at $3.50. A Weekday Lineup of specials include Burger and a Brew Thursday, which pairs the Steakhouse Bacon Cheeseburger with any draft beer for a special price; and Steak Frites Friday, which offers a value price on Top Sirloin Steak and a double order of French Fries. Guests may order from the full restaurant menu or take advantage of BullsEye Bar specials while watching their favorite sports throughout the bar.
Stacy Schulist, Director of Marketing added, "We owe much of our success to the support of our loyal guests, many of who've been frequenting Black Angus for decades. We look forward to continuing to share memorable steakhouse experiences with our longtime patrons and new generations to come."
