Wing Picks Up Awards at FIAP and U.S. Idea Awards

2014 Marks a Historic Year of Award Wins for Agency

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Apr 30, 2014) - Wing, a leading full-service marketing communications agency focused on Hispanic consumers, took home honors at the 2014 Festival Iberoamericano De La Publicidad (FIAP), earning two awards. Wing also won four honors at the 2014 U.S. Idea Awards held during the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies (AHAA) annual conference. Both festivals were held from April 28 to April 30 in Miami.

"While I am proud of these awards, I am not completely surprised. These awards speak to the amount of young talent at Wing who think beyond traditional advertising models," said Favio Ucedo, Chief Creative Officer at Wing. "We are all looking forward to continuing this momentum with the recent development of The Appstrip by Ximo -- the first comic strip built with daily refreshing mobile app icons."

"Removal Happens" was Wing's most celebrated effort, winning a silver award in the interactive category and bronze in the promo category at FIAP. It was also named most creative use of media and best in digital, other digital channels at the U.S. Idea Awards.

Utilizing the fact that the removal of a video from YouTube tells a story on its own, Wing conceptualized "Removal Happens" to show what happens when a divorce happens in today's social media age -- users remove evidence of their former happy lives. Created for the Law Offices of Esteban Gergely, the campaign is meant to shock as users are initially searching and expecting to see intimate videos of now-divorced celebrity couples.

At the U.S. Idea Awards, Wing's "Playlust by Lifebeat" was recognized as a hot site/webpage within the digital category, as well as best live advertising within the graphic media category.

To reach millennials with a message of safe sex, Lifebeat, a leading national nonprofit dedicated to educating America's youth about HIV/AIDS prevention, partnered with Wing to create Playlust, an initiative that grounds itself on a genuine insight about millennials: music has always helped them set the mood -- even 'in the sack.' Playlust is the first safe-sex campaign that provides condoms for protecting millennials against STDs and also against the ads that come up on Spotify while they are 'getting it on.' The campaign, which launched at concerts and musical venues across New York City, supplies millennials with condoms and a code to get free Spotify playlists to 'get it on.'
