BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - May 28, 2014) - Cooley LLP announced today that Ellen A. Scordino has joined the firm as a partner in its litigation department. She will be a member of Cooley's intellectual property practice group and will be resident in the firm's Boston office.
Scordino, who was named a "40 Under 40" honoree by the Boston Business Journal in 2012, and a "Top Women of The Law" by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly in 2013, joins Cooley from Fish & Richardson, where she focused her practice on patent infringement litigation and counseling. In addition to her considerable track record litigating cases related to pharmaceuticals, biotechnologies and various medical devices, Scordino brings to Cooley deep experience in the area of Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDA).

Scordino's arrival follows closely on the heels of the recent additions to Cooley's Boston and New York offices of leading life sciences partners Ivor Elrifi and Heidi Erlacher. Elrifi and Erlacher came to Cooley from Mintz Levin, where Elrifi co-chaired that firm's intellectual property practice. They have been joined by a growing team of ten attorneys, patent agents and technical advisors.

Scordino received her B.S. in Chemistry from Trinity College and her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. Prior to her legal career, she was a research scientist at Purdue Pharma LP and a chemist at Copley Pharmaceuticals.
