BILOXI, Miss., June 4, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Please join representatives from The First, a National Banking Association (The First), The Peoples Bank, and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) as they announce $78,000 in Special Needs Assistance Program (SNAP) grants to homeowners in several Gulf Coast cities.
The banks worked with Hope Community Development Agency (Hope CDA) to disburse the grants. SNAP is offered by FHLB Dallas through its member institutions, such as The First and The Peoples Bank, to provide grants to assist income-qualified, special needs homeowners with necessary home repairs and modifications.
Since SNAP's inception in 2009, more than $7.3 million in SNAP grants have been awarded through FHLB Dallas member institutions to assist more than 1,464 families. Another $1.85 million in SNAP grants will be awarded in 2014.
This event is open to the public, and media is welcome to attend. There will be opportunities for interviews and photos with participants and grant recipients.
