Cartesian(TM) Strengthens Leadership Team with Seasoned Telecom Executives

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., June 10, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cartesian, a specialist provider of consulting services and managed solutions to the global communications, technology and digital media industries, today announced the expansion of its leadership team with the hire of seasoned industry executives to its business development teams.

Clayton LiaBraaten and Jim Erickson join Cartesian's North American Business Development and Sales organization, along with Richard Scoggins in Global Business Development and Strategic Partnerships. Earlier this year, Paul Rusby came on board taking on the role as Executive Director in Commercial in the company's EMEA division.

"The bolstering of our senior leadership highlights the momentum in our business development initiatives as we deliver higher value services globally," said Donald Klumb, CEO of Cartesian. "Clayton, Jim, Richard and Paul have had careers spanning over the last 30 years in the communications, technology and media industries - a time of much technological change and consolidation. Hiring the most knowledgeable and skilled people to our leadership team is a reflection of our dedication to growth and our strategy to further enhance our solutions offerings to our clients."

As Vice President for Business Development and Sales, Clayton LiaBraaten and Jim Erickson will focus on bringing the managed solutions offerings to clients. Experienced in innovative, disruptive growth and leadership in the dotcom, telecom and media space, LiaBraaten has held a number of executive roles including his previous position as SVP of Carrier and Mobile Markets at Neustar. Erickson has a background in operations, marketing and sales, and general management previously holding management roles at CenturyLink (Qwest), AOL Time Warner, Comcast Cable and TeleTech. With extensive experience in telecoms and consulting at EMC, IBM and Motorola, and most recently at Tech Data, Richard Scoggins will be expanding Cartesian's global partner network.

A veteran of the telco industry, Paul Rusby has held commercial and operational leadership positions in both business-to-business and business-to-consumer sectors. In his last role, he was a key member of the ntl/Virgin Media management team which was acquired by Liberty Global last year. Working closely with Cartesian's energy business solutions partner, Elutions, Rusby will be driving the company's Smart Buildings, Smart Assets and managed solutions offerings as well as developing key client accounts in EMEA for Cartesian.

In early 2014, Cartesian reorganized its business units and rebranded the firm from TMNG Global. In its first quarter results, the company reported 16 percent core revenue growth and stock price has doubled since February. "What attracted me to join the team are the leadership, talent and positive direction of the company within the framework of the recent transformation," states LiaBraaten.
