Diversity Journal Announces "Women Worth Watching" Issue This Year Both Women and the Top Companies will be Recognized

Diversity Journal announces that they will recognize companies and cultures that have fostered talented women.

Westlake, OH, June 10, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- After 14 years of helping organizations celebrate their top women leaders, Profiles in Diversity Journal now has an opportunity for companies to be recognized for their cultures that foster an environment where talented women can thrive, according to James R. Rector, founder, CEO & publisher.

"Profiles in Diversity Journal invites companies anywhere in the world to participate in its 13th Annual Women Worth Watching® issue by nominating one of their most influential senior women executives for this prestigious award," said Rector. "At the same time, our Journal will salute those corporations that really stand out from the rest."

Nine former Women Worth Watching recipients are now in the role of chief executive officer for their Fortune 500 companies. Countless others have gone on to lead new business units, drive new markets, launch new ventures, and help develop the next generation of women leaders. According to Rector, Women Worth Watching has played a role in recognizing and supporting this movement of women to the top of their organizations. The nine award winners can be seen at www.womenworthwatching.com/ceo.

Throughout the publication's history, the Women Worth Watching edition has recognized thousands of women from Fortune 500 companies, world-class educational institutions, military branches and nonprofit organizations that are changing our workplaces and our world. The publication seeks nominations from organizations prior to June 30.

"If the nominee is selected to participate, she will be provided editorial space in the issue to write about her own professional journey, what she considers her greatest achievements, and her personal philosophy and efforts toward empowering others," said Kathie Sandlin, Editor in Chief. "Taking part in this very special September/October feature will not only help companies publicly celebrate their nominee's commitment and achievements, but more importantly, foster recognition for the company as one that promotes women in leadership and gender equity. It's an issue they'll want to share with employees, board of directors and key stakeholders as well."

To participate, companies can make a nomination online or download and complete the attached Nomination Form. Should the nomination be accepted, companies will receive an information packet containing submission requirements and guidelines for participating in this issue. Visit the publication's nominations page to learn more about the Women Worth Watching award process and nomination rules.
