WEINBERG FOUNDATION ADDS TO INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT TEAM

David Gilmore Named as Managing Director of Investments


BALTIMORE, June 11, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, one of the largest private foundations in the United States, has named David Gilmore as its Managing Director of Investments. Mr. Gilmore will support Jonathan D. Hook who was named in April as the Foundation's first Chief Investment Officer. Both will work closely with the Foundation's Board of Directors and with Rachel Garbow Monroe, the Weinberg Foundation's President/CEO, in guiding the Foundation's $2B investment portfolio as well as refining the organization's investment strategy.

Mr. Gilmore, 38, will begin work with the Weinberg Foundation on August 4. He currently serves as the Interim Chief Investment Officer for The Ohio State University. Mr. Gilmore joined the University in March of 2009. In his current position, Mr. Gilmore is responsible for the direction and oversight of the $3.4 billion long-term investment pool. His areas of responsibilities include setting the investment philosophy, conducting asset allocation and manager research, due diligence and risk oversight. He has been advising clients, performing manager due diligence, and constructing investment portfolios for more than 10 years.

Prior to joining the Office of Investments, Mr. Gilmore was a partner and investment consultant at Gerber/Taylor Capital Advisors. Gerber/Taylor Capital Advisors is a fund of funds manager that also provides investment consulting services to institutional clients and families. During his tenure at Gerber/Taylor, Mr. Gilmore was also responsible for asset allocation and manager research.

Mr. Gilmore earned his BBA from Baylor University and received his MBA with a concentration in finance from the University of Memphis. David is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional and has earned the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.

Mr. Gilmore and his family will relocate to the Baltimore area in the near future.
