Winners were announced during an award ceremony being held at the 2014 Premier Breakthroughs Conference and Exhibition in San Antonio. Each summer, thousands of providers, academic institutions and suppliers attend the conference to learn practical, replicable strategies to improve healthcare delivery. QUEST® Award for High-value Healthcare
More than 100 hospitals were recognized for the QUEST® Award for High-value Healthcare. Specifically, 18 hospitals won the award for achieving top performance in all six of the areas measured in Premier's QUEST collaborative: mortality, harm, readmissions, costs, patient experience and evidence-based care. The remaining 98 hospitals were recognized for top performance in at least four of any of the six above areas.
Partnership for Patients Award
The Partnership for Patients Award was granted to 10 hospitals that reached at least seven out of the 10 harm reduction targets measured in Premier's hospital engagement network as part of the federal Partnership for Patients initiative. Seventy-two other hospitals were also recognized for top performance in at least five of the measured areas.
Supply Chain Awards
Nearly 40 hospitals and health systems received Premier's Supply Chain Innovation and Excellence Awards for superior supply expense performance measured through SupplyFocus®.
One Premier member and one contracted supplier won Premier's Diversity Award for their important contributions in developing and nurturing diversity programs in their organizations and communities.
Supplier Awards
For its second year, Premier's Supplier Legacy Award was granted to 13 deserving and long-standing contracted suppliers that support Premier members through exceptional local customer service and engagement, value creation through clinical excellence and commitment to lower costs. And, for the first time, Premier recognized contracted suppliers with less tenure with the Supplier Horizon Award for displaying the same qualities as Legacy Award recipients.
In addition, during the Culinary Creations dinner, Premier will present the Illuminating Excellence Award to an outstanding foodservice professional as Premier's foodservice director of the year.
American Excess Insurance Exchange (AEIX) Risk Management Award
Premier Insurance Management Services Inc. chose five Premier member hospitals and health systems to receive its annual AEIX Risk Management Award for creating practices to reduce liability and enhance quality of care.
