LOUISVILLE, KY--(Marketwired - June 25, 2014) - Advanced Solutions, an Autodesk Platinum Partner and Authorized Training Center (ATC), releases a call for entries for the cross-industry design competition, Climb Higher Design Contest. As a part of The Sky's the Limit with Autodesk 2015 Software virtual event, the month-long competition is designed for professionals in the Manufacturing, Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industries.
As part of the competition, Advanced Solutions has posed three questions to industry designers:
Do you push your designs to the limit?
Do you use Autodesk solutions to your advantage?
Do you want to put your skills to the challenge?
The Climb Higher Design Contest requires participants to use their creativity to design a defined project utilizing Autodesk software. The competition will begin at 8:30 a.m. (EDT) on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, in conjunction with the opening session of The Sky's the Limit with Autodesk 2015 Software virtual event.
Contest participants have the choice between two options for their project design: 1) Tree House or 2) Ball Launcher (to protect the tree house from enemy attacks, obviously). The two options were created to allow professionals from different industries to participate based on their specific skill set and interest. For those interested in Building Design, a Tree House design option is being created. The Ball Launcher option is targeted at those interested in Product Design and Manufacturing.
Contestants for both design projects will have the chance to win part of over $6,000 in prizes to be awarded based upon these specific requirements:
OPTION 1 - Tree House Entry Requirements
- Must utilize a minimum of two (2) Autodesk software programs;
- Must be submitted on a 24" x 36" project board (PDF) including:
- 2D plan or proposed design;
- Relevant design detail from project;
- Architectural rendering: photorealistic image, sketch, or 3D technical drawing; and
- A brief 50-500 word explanation of design.
OPTION 2 - Ball Launcher Entry Requirements
- Must utilize a minimum of two (2) Autodesk software programs;
- Must be submitted on a 24" x 36" project board (PDF) including:
- 2D design plan;
- Relevant design detail from project;
- 3D rendering: photorealistic image, sketch, or 3D technical drawing; and
- A brief 50-500 word explanation of design.
Judges, such as Daniel Zucker (Autodesk Social Media Guru) and Craig Bashor (ASI Manufacturing Process Improvement Specialist), will review projects submitted in both categories to select the winning designs. The judging is based and scored on five criteria, in order to determine First, Second and Third Place winners in each category.
Entries will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. (EDT) on July 25, 2014. Registration begins today! Winners will be announced the week of August 4th. Official contest rules, registration form and prize descriptions can be found on the contest landing page at www.AdvancedSolutions.com/Contest.
