TEAM Coalition Offers "Responsibility Has Its Rewards" Sweepstakes At the NCAA Men's College World Series

Alexandria, VA, June 27, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- 2014 marks the eighth year in which TEAM (Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management) Coalition has celebrated the NCAA® Men's College World Series® by rewarding responsible fans with souvenir photos and a chance to add their signature to a banner full of autographs of responsible fans supporting the eight qualifying schools. TEAM Coalition will congratulate Vanderbilt by sending the banner to the school's athletic department, illustrating how many fans supported them in their 2014 NCAA Men's College World Series victory and TEAM Coalition's message of responsibility.

TEAM Coalition is an alliance of professional and collegiate sports, entertainment facilities, concessionaires, stadium service providers, the beer industry, distillers, broadcasters, governmental traffic safety experts and others working together to promote responsible drinking and positive fan behavior at sports and entertainment facilities. This "Responsibility Has Its Rewards" (RHIR) sweepstakes capitalized on the excitement of the 2014 NCAA Men's College World Series and encouraged fans to celebrate responsibly.

Each day that TEAM Coalition activated at the NCAA College World Series FanFest, one lucky fan was randomly selected to receive a pair of tickets to the next day's games during the tournament as part of the RHIR sweepstakes.

To participate, individuals made the "Responsibility Has Its Rewards" pledge to:

  • Always Have A Designated Driver
  • Never Drive Drunk
  • Always Buckle Up - Every Trip, Every Time
  • Never Provide Alcohol to Anyone Under 21 Years of Age

820 college baseball fans made the pledge. Each had a chance to win the daily prize drawing for two free tickets to the next night's game, provided courtesy of the NCAA.

TEAM Coalition would like to offer congratulations to our winners in the event's RHIR sweepstakes.  Four fans, one winner each day of FanFest, and their respective guests received tickets to the semifinal round of this year's tournament.  One winner and his guest received tickets to the Championship round of the 2014 NCAA Men's College World Series at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, NE.

TEAM Coalition executive director, Jill Pepper, said, "TEAM Coalition reaches fans beyond the ballpark, reminding them to celebrate the NCAA Men's College World Series responsibly." Mary Wilfert, associate director, NCAA Sport Science Institute, said, "As a member of TEAM Coalition, the NCAA is very excited to partner with the promotion, and to encourage fans of the NCAA Men's College World Series to make their responsibility pledges so that all baseball fans can safely enjoy the games!"
