AUSTIN, Texas, July 10, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Freebirds World Burrito, the Texas-based fast casual burrito concept owned by Tavistock Restaurants, will open its first location in Tyler, Texas on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Times Square retail center located on South Broadway Avenue. The first 25 guests in line at the location will be rewarded with free burritos for a year.
In preparation for Monday's grand opening, the new Tyler Freebirds location will open its doors on Friday, July 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, July 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. offering guests an opportunity to sample the menu with a $5 cash donation to support our community partners Arms of Hope and USO Dallas.
The new Tyler location marks the 67th Freebirds restaurant opening in Texas for the award-winning brand, which operates more 100 locations in seven states across the U.S.
At Freebirds, employees known as "Tribe members" guide guests through the burrito-building experience, working as a team to customize each meal with various portion sizes, tortilla flavors, and dozens of fresh ingredients to suit individual tastes. Preferred menu items include grass-fed beef, hormone-free chicken and all-natural, slow-simmered carnitas in addition to the ever-popular roasted garlic, fresh lime juice and secret recipe Death Sauce. Entrées are topped with hand-chopped vegetables and a variety of freshly made salsas, sauces and dressings.
Freebirds was recently recognized as one of the nation's top fast casual brands by FastCasual.com at the "2014 Fast Casual Top 100 Movers & Shakers" awards gala held during the National Restaurant Association tradeshow in Chicago. The new Freebirds Tyler location will employ approximately 30 employees from the local community. The restaurant will operate from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturdays; and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays.
