CLEVELAND, OH--(Marketwired - Aug 20, 2014) - Furthering the development of its innovative Virtual Job Tryout® solution, SHAKER today announced it has appointed talented industrial/organizational psychologist Luiz Xavier, Ph.D., to the company's Insights Team, a group dedicated to raising quality of hire through the ongoing refinement and success of the Virtual Job Tryout solution within clients' organizations.
As more organizations recognize the benefits of simulations in their recruiting efforts -- primarily the ability to predict future job performance and determine better job fit -- SHAKER continues to expand its team of experts to keep up with demand for its simulation solutions. In his role at SHAKER, Xavier will bring his extensive organizational development experience to the Insights Team to help enhance clients' existing job simulation solutions, which give job candidates the opportunity to test-drive a variety of jobs. Xavier will work closely with HR professionals, conducting talent analytics to enhance their evidence-based hiring systems to reduce turnover and to improve employers' ability to predict which candidates will be most successful on the job.
"Luiz brings an unmistakable passion and expertise for qualitative and quantitative analytics that will complement the Insights Team's focus on quality of hire validation initiatives," SHAKER executive vice president, Joseph Murphy, said.
"SHAKER's goal of building innovative, engaging and predictive assessment systems combined with the company's focus on partnership and collaboration present an unbeatable combination. I look forward to enhancing the assessment frameworks and techniques that will deliver a different candidate experience and drive business performance to new levels," Xavier added.
Prior to joining SHAKER, Xavier worked for BattlePulse Technologies where he used his I/O expertise to design and develop assessments and analyses for personnel selection. Throughout his career, he has delivered analytic and consultative services for a variety of companies, including Universal Orlando, the California Public Utilities Commission, AC Transit and the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission (EEOC). His experience also includes designing a mentoring intervention to increase retention in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) careers.
Xavier received his Ph.D. in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of Central Florida. He also is a graduate of San Francisco State University, with a master's degree in I/O psychology and a bachelor's degree in psychology.
