BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - August 26, 2014) - Amazing Charts, a leading developer of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for outpatient practices, will host a two-day learning and networking event focused on the Direct Primary Care (DPC) model of practice. The DPC Exchange is a free event and will be held in Room 102A of the Boston Convention Center during Pri-Med East on Sept. 12-13, 2014.
A special panel discussion -- Starting a DPC Practice -- is scheduled from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13. Panelists will include:
- Rushika Fernandopulle, CEO of Iora Health, a national network of DPC Practices
- Gabe Fine, managing director of Health Access Rhode Island, a regional network of DPC practices
- Dr. Jeff Gold, a future DPC physician, Gold Direct Care PC
- Dr. Bruce Jung of Corbin, Kentucky, a DPC practitioner and current Amazing Charts user
DPC is primary care offered directly to the consumer and employers without insurance administration. It is an umbrella term incorporating various health care delivery systems that involve direct financial relationships between patients, employers and health care providers.
"Direct Primary Care is growing because it makes good economic sense for a lot of clinicians and their patients," said John Squire, president and COO of Amazing Charts. "We want to provide education and information so clinicians are aware of all the best practices and potential pitfalls before they make the switch to a cash-only or patient-subscription model."
