REDWOOD SHORES, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 4, 2014) - AutoGrid Systems, a leader in Big Data analytics and cloud computing solutions for the energy industry, announced today that Raj Pai has joined the company as Global Head of Product Management and Marketing.
In this role, Raj will be responsible for AutoGrid's corporate and product marketing, product roadmaps and channel strategies. AutoGrid creates Big Data energy applications for critical, real-time tasks such as managing demand response programs, integrating renewables into the grid, controlling peak power loads inside buildings and industrial facilities and pinpointing electricity losses.
"Raj's expertise will further strengthen AutoGrid's ability to bring Big Data applications for the energy industry to market," said Amit Narayan, CEO of Autogrid. "His skill in implementing strategies for new, emerging products will help us to continue to meet our customers' need for software solutions that address the pressing challenges facing power providers and consumers in the 21st century."
Raj brings an 18-year track record of successfully building market-leading products at both leading public companies and successful high tech startups.
Prior to joining AutoGrid Raj co-founded Claritics (acquired by Systems-in-Motion), a cloud-based Big Data analytics provider to retailers, game publishers and social media platforms. Previously, Raj was senior executive in charge of channel sales and product alliances for Big Data analytics market leader Aster Data (acquired by Teradata) and responsible for key vendor partnerships and customer wins including Dell, Teradata, Amazon Web Services, LinkedIn, State Farm, comScore and others. Raj has also held senior software development and marketing positions at Informatica and Tibco.
"In the software space, there is perhaps no greater market opportunity than bringing Big Data to the energy industry. Energy is where the Internet of Things will have its first big impact," said Pai. "As the new head of Product Management and Marketing, I look forward to helping AutoGrid seize this opportunity and hasten the development of a more advanced energy economy."
Raj joins a growing team of experienced software and energy industry experts at AutoGrid. Earlier this year, Jon Wellinghoff, former Chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and Tom Kippola, co-founder of the Chasm Group, joined the company's strategic advisory board, and enterprise software sales leader Dave Garcia joined the company as Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations.
The Cleanest, Cheapest Source of Power
AutoGrid transforms data into the cleanest, cheapest source of power. The company's Energy Data Platform (EDP) leverages petabytes of data to accurately forecast near term power demand and thereby allow utilities, communities, business users and individuals to fine-tune power consumption and costs.
Utilities such as Oklahoma Gas & Electric, Austin Energy, E.ON and City of Palo Alto Utilities use AutoGrid's technology to improve the reliability and productivity of their operations. AutoGrid has also partnered with several world-leading organizations such as NTT DATA, Schneider Electric and Silver Spring Networks to expand the market for Big Data energy technology.
