Sleepy's, America's largest privately-owned and operated specialty mattress retailer, recently embarked on a website redesign project that included optimizing image management across the company. Previously, the company's online images -- which are utilized by the POS, the company intranet and its websites -- were housed in an Oracle database and required constant manual resizing and uploads. In addition, the platform didn't allow the visual enhancements needed to deliver efficient usability for customers.
To address these issues, Sleepy's turned to Amplience's Dynamic Media solution, which enabled the company to upload images through the platform and adapt them automatically, on the fly. Dynamic imaging allows retailers to easily resize all images from one master asset, optimize video delivery for all devices (including iOS) and showcase product details with integrated video, zoom and spin. Amplience's Dynamic Media platform has helped Sleepy's reduce image management time significantly, improving productivity by an estimated 20 percent.
In addition, dynamic media has also helped the company deliver information in the fastest way possible across any device to provide an optimal customer experience, both online and offline. Sleepy's is an omnichannel retailer, with 45 percent of its customers engaging with the company across a smartphone or tablet -- often utilizing multiple devices during the same purchasing journey. Providing a seamless customer experience, no matter the channel in use, is critical for Sleepy's and is a key element of what dynamic media helps deliver. Since implementation, Sleepy's has seen a 15 percent increase in overall conversions and a 20 percent increase in revenue related to the overall site redesign.
