ScanHD Tags have been designed to work with any system, but primarily ScanESC -- an electronic tablet and web-based lockout-tagout program from ESC. The tags are made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) -- uncommon in the signage industry due to the cost and complexity to manufacture. ESC worked around this barrier by adapting the injection molding technology found in ESC's graphical injection molded identification tags. "By simplifying the manufacturing process and targeting a purpose-built design, we have shattered prior beliefs that signage couldn't be made this way," said Michalscheck.
ScanHD Tags are designed to easily adhere to panels using multiple forms of adhesive solutions as well as various metal banding for permanent valve identification. Additional features include a recessed cavity on the back which provides the ability to properly adhere the tag by blocking out the elements, and gives it a lower profile when mounted -- preventing pressure washers or blunt force from inadvertently removing the tag. ScanHD Tags are also metal detectable, ensuring any loose tag will be easy to keep separate from critical production process (such as in the food industry).
