OAKLAND, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 25, 2014) - Bell Investment Advisors, a Bay Area registered investment advisory firm and Scott Valley Bank will co-host a breakfast discussion "Succession Planning for Business Owners: Breaking Down the Concerns" on Wednesday, October 8, 2014, from 8:30 to 10 am, at Scott Valley Bank in Walnut Creek.
Jim Bell, CFP®, President and Founder of Bell Investment Advisors, and Chris Morin, EVP, Bay Area Regional Director of Scott Valley Bank, will co-host the breakfast discussion -- part of the Scott Valley Bank "Food and Finance" series to provide free finance education and information to both individuals and business owners.
"For business owners, succession planning is often put off -- like cleaning out your garage or completing your revocable trust," says Bell. "It can be a daunting project. In this workshop, we will break down the concerns and distinctions of succession planning into manageable bites."
"A successful succession plan anticipates potentially conflicting and competing demands on the business owner, and attempts to realign the business structure in an environment where old rules don't necessarily apply anymore," adds Morin.
The Bell and Scott Valley Bank hosts will drill into the important differences between management succession and ownership succession. The team will also specify the unseen consequences to banking and credit facilities when there is a succession of ownership. Other considerations for business succession planning will be reviewed, with time for questions and answers from the presenters.
Location: Scott Valley Bank, 590 Ygnacio Valley Road, Walnut Creek, CA 94596
