Dot & Bo Welcomes Entertainment Industry Veteran Nancy Tellem to Board of Directors

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 8, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dot & Bo, an online service for discovering stylish furniture and decor, announced today that entertainment industry veteran Nancy Tellem has joined the company's board of directors.

The San Francisco-based company curates unique merchandise into daily collections that tell engaging stories by weaving together furniture and décor with trends, tips, history, and lifestyle inspiration. With the goal to engage audiences the same way a magazine or television show would, Dot & Bo provides a new way to shop—where retail and entertainment converge.

"Nancy Tellem is a respected entertainment industry veteran and we're fortunate to have her join Dot & Bo's board," says Anthony Soohoo, co-founder and CEO of Dot & Bo. "Her many years of experience developing successful TV series is a major asset. Using Nancy's insight and experience, we will continue to evolve and engage our audience through the stories behind each hand-picked item as we extend the reach of content programming to e-commerce."

Nancy Tellem is the President of Entertainment & Digital Media at Microsoft where she created interactive content for the Xbox One and Xbox 360. Previously, Tellem was President of the CBS Network Television Entertainment Group where she supervised development, production, business affairs, operations, and programming for both the network and the studio. In 2006, Tellem was inducted into the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame and in 2008, Forbes included her on its list of "The World's 100 Most Powerful Women."

"Dot & Bo is changing the way people shop through a compelling and rich consumer experience that is wholly new and yet familiar," says Tellem. "The potential of Dot & Bo's idea to reimagine commerce and entertainment is quite remarkable. I'm thrilled to be working with Anthony and the rest of the board and am looking forward to taking advantage of all the opportunities ahead."

Tellem joins current Dot & Bo board members Anthony Soohoo, Gus Tai of Trinity Ventures, and Fred Harman of Oak Investment Partners.
