The Great Pumpkin Is Coming

The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner Celebrates Halloween With the Largest Pumpkin in Northern VA and More Fall Favorites

MCLEAN, VA--(Marketwired - Oct 9, 2014) - The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner will celebrate Halloween in a "big" way this year with the arrival of The Great Pumpkin. Weighing in at 600-800 lbs., this will be the largest pumpkin on display in Northern Virginia. And the luxury Tysons Corner hotel is ready to celebrate.

Beginning on October 10, visitors to the luxury hotel's lobby will come face to face with The Great Pumpkin and his little pumpkin friends, with the surrounding haystacks, cornstalks and scarecrow helping to create the right autumn ambience. But it's the exciting lineup of events that really rings in the season. Guests will have their choice of activities, from indulging in pumpkin-inspired pampering, to relaxing over a variety of seasonal sips, to bringing the family together for some good, old-fashioned fun at pumpkin-carving classes and more. The Great Pumpkin, it turns out, heralds great fun for everyone.

The Day Spa
Drawing on its tradition of using natural ingredients for effective spa treatments, The Day Spa has harnessed the power of pumpkins for its latest facial. This season's favorite vegetable imparts a bright, healthy glow to tired skin while simultaneously fighting the signs of aging. Spa guests can luxuriate in the warm, familiar scent during the treatment, which includes cleansing, exfoliating, a facial massage, a pumpkin peel and an intense moisturizing application.

Pumpkin Peel Facial: 50 Minutes, $140; 80 Minutes, $199

Entyse, Wine Bar & Lounge
Pumpkins aren't just for pies anymore. At the elegantly relaxed Entyse, visitors can explore the possibilities and nuances of pumpkin-inspired delicacies, ranging from martinis to macaroni.

Pumpkin S'more Bar, featuring a graham-cracker base, pumpkin pie, sugarcane marshmallow and Nutella powder

Pumpkin Carving Classes
No Halloween is complete without a jack-o-lantern, and Executive Chef Chris will make sure aspiring goblins have the most impressive ones on the block. Chef Chris and his ghoulishly talented team will guide children through the creative process, introducing new techniques and expert opinions along the way, to produce pumpkin lanterns worthy of display this Halloween. Participants will feast on terrifying treats during the classes to ensure they have both the stamina and the inspiration necessary to create monstrous masterpieces. Classes include all the elements needed to assemble a jack-o-lantern and are suitable for children ages 6 and older. Guests will also be able to enjoy a visit to our spooky Haunted House.
