LAGUNA BEACH, Calif., Oct. 13, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Healthcare Administrative Technology Association (HATA) announced the distribution of a crucial Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)/Electronic Remittances Advice (ERA) reconciliation survey. The survey has been designed to help practice management system (PMS) vendors reduce unnecessary healthcare costs by documenting the issues and capabilities of their systems that may streamline the ERA/EFT reconciliation process for providers.
To begin the survey, click on the HATA website at http://www.hata-assn.org/era-eft-survey. The deadline for participation is Thursday, October 30, 2014.
"HATA is striving to identify and mitigate areas that continue to strain healthcare's administrative process while adding unnecessary costs to an already overburdened system," explained HATA Executive Director Tim McMullen, JD, CAE. "Our association strongly believes that it is imperative to reduce operational complexity and labor-intensive workflow to achieve administrative simplification."
"Capturing stakeholder feedback is one of the many areas in which HATA is becoming more involved to serve as a valuable resource and advocate, and provide one representative voice on behalf of the healthcare administrative technology community," stated HATA President and MedInformatix Product Manager, Chris Bruns. "HATA believes the survey will identify the issues and capabilities that will assist PMS vendors to streamline the ERA/EFT reconciliation process," he added.
The results of the survey will be released in early November with the purpose of raising awareness of specific practice management system needs and to encourage providers to more widely use ERA and EFTs.
While the healthcare administrative technology market segment traditionally has not been represented among the key healthcare stakeholders, HATA was formed to provide a strong, collective, influential voice.
